WARNING:
Accidental air bag deployment is possible. Personal injury may result. Avoid bumping SRS unit if ignition is on, or has been turned off for less than 3 minutes.
- Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Erase DTC memory. See ERASING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE MEMORY . Turn ignition on. If indicator light stays on, go to next step. If light goes off after about 6 seconds, system is okay at this time. See TROUBLESHOOTING INTERMITTENT FAILURES .
- Disable passenger side-impact air bag. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Connect SRS Simulator Lead "D" (07XAZ-S1A0200) and SRS Inflator Simulator (07SAZ-TB4011A) to SRS floor harness 2-pin connector. See Figure. Reconnect negative battery cable. Erase DTC memory. See ERASING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE MEMORY . Read DTC. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) . If DTC 12-3 is indicated, go to next step. If DTC 12-3 is not indicated, replace passenger side-impact air bag assembly. See AIR BAG ASSEMBLIES under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Disable driver side-impact air bag and both seat belt tensioners. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Disconnect SRS floor harness 18-pin connector from SRS unit. See Figure. Disconnect SRS simulator lead "D" and SRS inflator simulator from SRS floor harness 2-pin connector. Measure resistance between SRS floor harness 18-pin connector terminals No. 3 and 15. If resistance is one megohm or greater, replace SRS unit. See SRS UNIT under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is less than one megohm, replace SRS floor harness.
