2004 Acura 3.5RLSECTION Immobilizer System Component Replacement

Because some components have specific communication relationships they must be replaced in specific groups. When certain groups are replaced a Honda PGM Tester and immobilizer program card are required to reprogram Powertrain Control Module (PCM), immobilizer control unit, and/or transponder (key) code.

If a master or valet key must be replaced or added, a blank key and Honda PGM Tester and vehicle's learning key are required. If all master and valet keys are to be replaced, blank master and valet keys, learning key, immobilizer control unit and Honda PGM Tester are required. If learning key is to be replaced, master key, learning key, immobilizer control unit and Honda PGM Tester are required.

If immobilizer receiver does not operate, an immobilizer receiver is required. If immobilizer control unit does not operate, master key, learning key, immobilizer control unit and Honda PGM Tester are required. If PCM is to be replaced, Honda PGM Tester is required.

If ignition switch is to be replaced, an ignition switch (with immobilizer receiver), immobilizer control unit, master key, learning key and Honda PGM Tester are required.

If a door key cylinder has been broken, a door key cylinder and master key or valet key for doors that are to be opened or locked are required.

If more than one key cylinder has been broken, an ignition switch (with immobilizer receiver), immobilizer control unit, master key, learning key, door key cylinders, trunk key cylinder and Honda PGM Tester are required.
