Safety Warning
DIY auto repair can cause serious injury, fire, or vehicle damage. These guides are for informational purposes only. Always follow OEM torque specs, wear PPE, and consult a certified mechanic if you are unsure. You are solely responsible for your safety.
Automatic Climate Control System
The automatic climate control system comes on when AUTO button is pressed. The system uses a combination of heated and cooled air as necessary to achieve desired temperature. Temperature control dial allows temperature to be set to 60-90Β°F (16-32Β°C). See Fig 1.
Depending on desired temperature, system also automatically selects fresh/recirculated (passenger compartment) air. Manual operation of fresh/recirculated air is obtained by pressing appropriate button.
Pressing defrost button directs treated air to windows. System continues to control set temperature. Pressing AUTO button returns system to normal operation. Pressing OFF button turns system off.
A self-diagnostic feature makes it easier to find problems in the system.
