Piston Pin Inspection

2001 Acura Integra GS, 2D Coupe, StandardSECTION Piston Pin Inspection
  1. Measure diameter of piston pin. Measure diameter of piston pin bore in piston. Piston pin clearance is difference between the 2 measurements. Ensure piston pin clearance is within specification. See PISTONS, PINS & RINGSΒ  table under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS.
  2. If piston pin clearance is more than specification, install oversize piston pin and recheck clearance. Oversize pin diameter is .8265-.8268" (20.993-21.000 mm).
  3. Determine difference between piston pin diameter and connecting rod small end bore to obtain interference fit. See PISTONS, PINS & RINGSΒ  table under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS.
