NOTE: When battery cables or BACK-UP RADIO fuse (7.5-amp) are disconnected, Powertrain Control Module (PCM) idle control is erased from PCM memory. Perform following procedure after battery cables or BACK-UP RADIO fuse (7.5-amp) are reconnected.

Start engine. Ensure A/C switch is in OFF position, headlights are off, rear defogger switch is in OFF position, and transmission is in Neutral or Park. Set engine speed to 3000 RPM until radiator cooling fan comes on. When radiator cooling fan comes on, reduce engine speed and allow engine to idle for approximately 5 minutes.
