NOTE:
Ensure other DTC is diagnosed first before proceeding this test.
- Test 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th clutch pressure. See ACURA M5DA OVERHAUL article. Repair as necessary. If clutch pressure readings are as specified, go to next step.
- Replace shift control solenoid valve "A" and "B" assembly and linear solenoid assembly. Reset PCM memory. See CLEARING FAULT CODESΒ . After clearing DTC, drive vehicle at more than 12 MPH in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear for longer than 30 seconds in "D4" position. Recheck for DTC P0740/FLASH CODE 40. If DTC resets, replace transaxle. If DTC does not reset, system is okay at this time.
