Heater Valve Control Solenoid

1998 Acura 3.5RL Special EditionSECTION Heater Valve Control Solenoid

  1. Disconnect heater valve control solenoid connector. Check for continuity between heater valve control solenoid terminals. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, replace heater valve control solenoid.
  2. Disconnect vacuum hose No. 2 from intake manifold. See Fig 1 . Connect vacuum pump to vacuum hose No. 2. Connect battery voltage to heater valve control solenoid terminal No. 2 and ground terminal No. 1.
  3. Check that heater valve rod is pulled toward diaphragm when vacuum is applied, and that rod returns to original position when power is disconnected. If heater valve rod does not operate as indicated, replace heater valve control solenoid.
