- Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Raise and support vehicle. Remove heat shield. Remove fuel tank drain bolt and empty fuel tank. Disconnect lines.
- Place a jack under tank. Remove strap nuts, and allow straps to fall free. Disconnect all electrical connectors. Remove fuel tank. If fuel tank sticks, carefully pry fuel tank off mount using a pry-bar. Remove fuel pump mounting nuts and fuel pump.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Install drain bolt with NEW washer. Coat drain bolt with rubber sealer (Noxrust 124B ). Allow rubber sealer (Noxrust 124B ) to dry for 20 minutes.
