A/T Gear Position Switch

1998 Acura 3.5RL Special EditionSECTION A/T Gear Position Switch
  1. A/T gear position switch is mounted on driver's side of transaxle at control shaft. Raise and support vehicle. Remove exhaust pipe and catalytic converter.
  2. Disconnect A/T gear position switch 10-pin harness connector. Note terminal identification. See Fig 1 . Using ohmmeter, check continuity between specified terminals in relation to shift lever position. See A/T GEAR POSITION SWITCH CONTINUITY SPECIFICATIONSΒ  table.
    NOTE: Check continuity while moving shift lever back and forth in free play area of each gear position. DO NOT touch push button on shift lever when checking continuity.
  3. If continuity is not as specified, A/T gear position switch may require adjustment. See A/T GEAR POSITION SWITCHΒ  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If correct continuity cannot be obtained by adjusting A/T gear position switch, replace A/T gear position switch.
