Mode Control Motor Testing

- Disconnect mode control motor 5-pin connector. Connect battery voltage to mode control motor terminal No. 1 and ground terminal No. 5. See Figure
. If mode control motor does not run and stop at maximum vent position, reverse battery connections.NOTE: If mode control motor does not run, remove mode control motor. Check doors and linkage for smooth operation. If doors and linkage are okay, mode control motor must be replaced.
- Measure resistance between terminals No. 2 and No. 3. Resistance should be 4800-7200 ohms. Measure resistance between terminals No. 3 and No. 4. Resistance should be 960-1440 ohms at VENT position, and 3840-5760 ohms at defrost position. If resistance checks are not as specified, replace mode control motor.
