- Disconnect air mix control motor 5-pin connector. Test air mix control motor. See AIR MIX CONTROL MOTOR TESTINGΒ . If air mix control motor is okay, go to step 3). If air mix control motor is not okay, remove air mix control motor. See AIR MIX CONTROL MOTOR R & IΒ .
- Check air mix control motor linkage and doors for smooth operation. If doors and linkage operate smoothly, replace air mix control motor. If doors and linkage DO NOTΒ operate smoothly, repair air mix control motor doors and linkage.
- Remove stereo unit. Disconnect climate control unit 12-pin and 20-pin connectors. Individually check for continuity between ground and terminal No. 3 and 4 (Red/White and Red/Yellow wires) of 12-pin connector, and between ground and terminal No. 2, 12, 17 (Gray, Yellow/Green and Pink/Black wires) of 20-pin connector. See Figure .
- If continuity exists, repair shorted wire(s) between climate control unit and air mix control motor. If continuity does not exist, individually check 12-pin connector terminal No. 3 and 4 (Red/White and Red/Yellow wires), and 20-pin connector terminal No. 2, 12, and 17 (Gray, Yellow/Green and Pink/Black wires) for voltage. See Figure .
- If voltage exists, repair short to power in wire(s) between climate control unit and air mix control motor. If short to power exists, climate control unit must be replaced. If voltage does not exist, check all wires for continuity between air mix control motor 5-pin connector and climate control unit connectors. If continuity does not exist in all wires, repair open in wire(s) between climate control unit and air mix control motor.
- If continuity exists, check for loose wires or poor connections at climate control unit 12-pin and 20-pin connectors, and air mix control motor 5-pin connector. If connections are okay, substitute known-good climate control unit and recheck. If symptom does not exist with known-good climate control unit, replace original climate control unit.
