- Raise vehicle and remove transmission splash shield. Disconnect gearshift position switch connector. Using a DVOM, check for continuity between ground and specified terminals while moving gearshift lever to specified positions. See Fig 1 . See GEARSHIFT POSITION SWITCH TEST (2.5TL)Β table. If switch tests okay, test is complete. If switch does not indicate continuity in any position, adjust switch and retest. See ADJUSTMENTSΒ . If one or more terminals do not indicate continuity, replace switch. See GEARSHIFT POSITION SWITCHΒ under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
