1997 Acura Integra GS-R, 2D CoupeSECTION Removal & Installation (Integra)
  1. Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEMΒ  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Remove upper and lower steering column covers. Remove lower dashboard panel and left knee bolster. Unplug 5-pin connector from underdash fuse block. Unplug ignition switch 7-pin connector from main wiring harness.
  2. Remove steering column mounting bolts/nuts. Lower steering column. Center-punch both shear bolts. Using a 3/16" bit, drill heads from bolts. Remove shear bolts and ignition lock assembly.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten new shear bolts until heads twist off. Check for proper ignition switch steering lock operation.
