Factory service manual diagnostic procedure for 2004 audi allroad

01J, Constantly Variable Transmission (CVT)

DTC 18158 / P1750

Factory service manual diagram

Note on DTC 18158 / P1750:
^ Condition for DTC recognition: Battery voltage was detected as less than or at 10V.

01L, 5 Speed A/T AWD

DTC 18158 / P1750

Factory service manual diagram

Note for DTC 18158 / P1750:
^ Conditions for fault recognition: Battery voltage lower than 7 Volt.
^ In case of power loss at terminal 30, the application values are lost, meaning that the Transmission Control Module (TCM) must relearn these values at a new start-up. During this new "re-learning" the shift quality can be not as good as normal
^ Battery monitoring differentiates between four areas: (U = battery voltage) First U < 7 Volt => Transmission goes into mechanical backup with non-active control module; Second 7 Volt< U < 9 Volt= Transmission range is held for about 2.5 sec., if U is then still in this range, the transmission goes into mechanical backup with non-active control module; Third 9 Volt < U < 16 Volt =^voltage is OK; Fourth U > 16 Volt =^transmission goes into mechanical backup with non-active control module

Note:
For DTC 18158 / P1750:

^ Requirement for malfunction recognition: Battery voltage smaller than 9 Volts transmission shifts into emergency running mode.

^ When vehicle voltage (terminal 30) fails, application values are lost, i.e. Transmission Control Module (TCM) must learn these values again when vehicle is started. During this renewed "learning", shifting quality may be lower than normal.
