Volkswagen Tiguan Fluid Capacities by Year

In the checked 2016 and 2017 Tiguan S AWD manual tables, that row is specifically “Refill, Haldex Clutch.” The same tables separately list 7.40 qt for “Initial Fill” of the automatic transmission, 0.90 qt for initial Haldex-clutch fill, and 1.00 qt for the rear final drive. These are distinct assemblies and operations.

The fluid table labels separate AWD hardware. Do not infer that a Tiguan has Haldex or a rear final drive from the model name alone; confirm the vehicle’s actual drivetrain and applicable service procedure.
2018–2022 AWD examples: main transmission and driveline rows stay separate
The checked 2018–2022 Tiguan S AWD tables list 7.40 qt initial fill for the automatic transmission (VW G 055 025 A2). They separately label 1.00 qt for the rear final drive and 1.00 qt for the bevel box. Engine oil with filter is listed as 6.00 qt (5.67 L), Castrol EDGE Professional Long Life IV SAE 0W-20 meeting VW 508 00. Cooling-system capacities vary slightly in the checked tables: 10.60 qt in 2018–2020 and 10.50 qt in 2021–2022.
A/C compressor oil also depends on the installed compressor in 2020–2022 tables: 3.80 oz for Denso/Delphi/Mahle or 2.50 oz for Sanden. The 2018–2019 tables list 3.70 oz. Confirm the compressor label before using the quantity.
2023–2024: A/C refrigerant depends on the under-hood label
The checked 2023 and 2024 Tiguan S AWD tables include both refrigerant configurations: 1.01 lb R-1234yf or 1.10 lb R-134a. They also distinguish compressor oil by manufacturer: 2.70 oz for Denso or 2.50 oz for Sanden. The earlier generic page showed only the R-134a quantity and one compressor-oil value.
