Dodge Ram Coolant Type and Capacity
The checked examples below are 2005 and 2011 RAM 1500 and 2500 trucks. “Dodge Ram” spans different years, engines and truck lines; these figures do not apply to every Ram, later Ram-branded truck, or van.
Safety Warning
Never open a hot or pressurized cooling system. Let it cool, confirm the exact vehicle and existing coolant, then follow that vehicle's fill and bleed procedure. Listed system capacity is not the amount to add after every drain or repair.
What the checked truck manuals say
The checked 2005 RAM 1500 2WD 3.7L, 4.7L and 5.7L manuals specify Mopar five-year/100,000-mile HOAT coolant or equivalent and list 16.2 US qt system capacity, including 1.0 qt in the reservoir. The checked 2005 RAM 2500 2WD 5.9L diesel specifies the same coolant label but lists 29.5 US qt, also including 1.0 qt in the reservoir.
The checked 2011 RAM 1500 2WD 3.7L and 4.7L manuals list 14 US qt; the 5.7L lists 16 US qt. Their coolant type leaves name Mopar five-year/100,000-mile coolant without an explicit HOAT label in those leaves. The checked 2011 RAM 2500 2WD 6.7L diesel names HOAT or equivalent and lists 5.7 US gal (21.4 L).
The former page assigned green IAT and 6–10 US qt to all listed generations. These exact manuals contradict those claims. Color, a broad model name and an estimated drain amount cannot identify the right product or quantity for your truck.

This is a product search for the checked 2005 examples, not a fitment guarantee for other Ram trucks. Confirm the current Mopar specification for your exact VIN and the product label, including concentrate versus premix, before buying. Color alone does not establish compatibility.
