System Overview: Signals

The table below summarizes input and output signals to and from the combustion preheater module (CPM). The illustration below displays the same information with the Volvo component designation.

  • The central electronic module (CEM) (4/56) transmits information on when the heater should start and the power supply status of the vehicle.
  • The engine control module (ECM) (4/46) transmits outside temperature to determine the temperature at which the heater should start.
  • The climate control module (CCM) (4/6) transmits information for control of the auxiliary heater function.
  • The driver information module (DIM) (5/1) transmits information and direct start (Timer 1 and Timer 2).
  • The supplemental restraint system module (SRS) (4/9) transmits information that the heater should be deactivated in the event of a collision.
  • Phone module (PHM) (16/60) (option, from and incl. structure week 201020) Sends information and direct start (Timer 1 and Timer 2).
  • The driver information module (DIM) (5/1) receives information on heater status for the display of text messages and any warnings.
  • The climate control module (CCM) (4/6) receives information to start the blower fan when the parking heater starts.
  • The central electronic module (CEM) (4/56) receives information on any heater faults.
  • The engine control module (ECM) (4/46) receives information on whether the heater is running.
  • Phone module (PHM) (16/60) (option, from and incl. structure week 201020) receives information on heater status for display of text messages and any warnings.
