Safety Warning
DIY auto repair can cause serious injury, fire, or vehicle damage. These guides are for informational purposes only. Always follow OEM torque specs, wear PPE, and consult a certified mechanic if you are unsure. You are solely responsible for your safety.
Lock Function With Deadlocking (Market Dependent)
If lock units with deadlocks are installed, there is an extra lock motor installed in each lock unit.
The function for this lock motor is to mechanically disconnect the inner door handle.
The function is activated automatically 10 seconds after the vehicle has been locked. This means that a side door cannot be opened from inside even if a window has been smashed for example. This also means that people who are inside the vehicle when it is locked cannot get out. The deadlock function can be disconnected via the reduced alarm function in this case. From structure week 200746 activation of reduced alarm takes place via the menu in the infotainment control module (ICM).
