DTC P0108 - Map Sensor Circuit High Input
NOTE:
If DTC P0108, P0113, P0118, P0123 and/or P0450 are set together, Light Green/Black wire (sensor ground) may be open.
- Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition on. Check intake manifold absolute pressure using scan tool. If display reads 130 kPa or greater, go to next step. If display reading is not as specified, check for an intermittent problem. See TESTS W/O CODES article.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect MAP sensor harness connector. Turn ignition on. Using a voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and Light Green wire. If reading is 4-6 volts, go to next step. If reading is not as specified, check Light Green wire for an open or short to ground. Repair as necessary. Retest system.
- Measure voltage between ground and Orange/Green wire of MAP sensor harness connector. If reading is zero volts, go to next step. If reading is 4-6 volts, repair Orange/Green wire for short to Light Green wire. If reading is battery voltage, repair Orange/Green wire for short to battery power. Repair as necessary. Retest system.
- Turn ignition off. Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between ground and Light Green/Black wire at MAP sensor harness connector. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open in Light Green/Black wire between MAP sensor harness connector and PCM harness connector "B", terminal No. 9. Retest system.
- Disconnect vacuum hose from MAP sensor. Remove MAP sensor. Connect three 1.5 volt batteries in series. Connect positive terminal of batteries to "Vin" terminal of MAP sensor. See Figure . Connect negative terminal of batteries to "Ground" terminal of MAP sensor. Using a voltmeter, measure voltage between terminals "Vout" and "Ground" of MAP sensor. Ensure voltage is as specified. See MAP SENSOR OUTPUT VOLTAGE table. Ensure voltage decreases as vacuum (up to 15 in. Hg) is supplied to MAP sensor. Replace MAP sensor if voltage is not as specified. If MAP sensor tests okay, replace PCM. Retest system.

When to See a Mechanic
Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:
- β’ You smell fuel, burning insulation, or see smoke.
- β’ Brakes feel soft, pull hard to one side, or make grinding noises.
- β’ The engine overheats, stalls repeatedly, or misfires under load.
- β’ You are missing required tools, torque specs, or safe lifting equipment.
- β’ You are not confident in the next step or safety outcome.
