  1. Check engine compression with engine at normal operating temperature at specified cranking speed with all spark plugs removed (on dual plugs, remove exhaust side only) and throttle wide open. Ensure battery is fully charged and disconnect ignition coil primary connector.
  2. Crank engine until maximum pressure is reached at each cylinder. Lowest cylinder pressure should be at least 75% that of the highest cylinder pressure. On manual transmissions, disengage clutch to lighten starting load on engine.
