Driver's Airbag Module: Removal

CAUTION:
Before handling the airbag system components, refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" in "AIRBAG SYSTEM". Ref. to Β AIRBAG SYSTEM>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTIONΒ Β .Β
- Position the front wheels straight ahead.
- Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
- Disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor, and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY
.NOTE:
For the hybrid model, disconnect the battery negative terminal.Β
- Remove the driver's airbag module.
- Using a hexagon wrench etc. wrapped by protective tape, insert the snap pins and release the locks (three locations).
- Disconnect the horn harness and airbag connector, and remove the driver's airbag module. Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>AIRBAG CONNECTOR>PROCEDURE>DRIVER'S AIRBAG MODULE AND CURTAIN AIRBAG MODULEΒ .
- Using a hexagon wrench etc. wrapped by protective tape, insert the snap pins and release the locks (three locations).
