Driver's Airbag Module: Removal

2022 Subaru Impreza Base, 4D Sedan, Automatic CVT TransSECTION Removal
CAUTION:

Before handling the airbag system components, refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" in "AIRBAG SYSTEM". Ref. to Β AIRBAG SYSTEM>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTIONΒ Β .Β 

  1. Position the front wheels straight ahead.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
  3. Disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor, and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
    NOTE:

    For the hybrid model, disconnect the battery negative terminal.Β 

  4. Remove the driver's airbag module.
    1. Using a hexagon wrench etc. wrapped by protective tape, insert the snap pins and release the locks (three locations).

    2. Disconnect the horn harness and airbag connector, and remove the driver's airbag module. Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>AIRBAG CONNECTOR>PROCEDURE>DRIVER'S AIRBAG MODULE AND CURTAIN AIRBAG MODULEΒ .
