Probable cause:

Communication error with the related systems

CAUTION:

Before performing diagnosis, refer to "CAUTION" in "General Description". Ref. to COCKPIT CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION

CHECK POWER SUPPLY CONDITION .
Check the ignition switch condition.

Is the ignition switch ON?

Yes : Go to 2.

No : Turn the ignition switch to ON, and check again.
CHECK SYMPTOMS .
Check the symptom when the switch is operated.

Does the display remain unchanged? (Does the screen freeze?)

Yes : Perform the diagnosis for "The screen freezes and does not accept any operation entry". Ref. to COCKPIT CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTICS WITH PHENOMENON>INSPECTION>THE SCREEN FREEZES AND DOES NOT ACCEPT ANY OPERATION ENTRY

No : Go to 3.
CHECK SYMPTOMS .
Check the symptom when the switch is operated.

Does the screen display change temporarily with the settings unchanged?

Yes : Perform the diagnosis for the corresponding system.

No : The system has returned to a normal condition at this time. Reproduce the failure, and then perform the diagnosis again.

When to See a Mechanic

Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:

• You smell fuel, burning insulation, or see smoke.

• Brakes feel soft, pull hard to one side, or make grinding noises.

• The engine overheats, stalls repeatedly, or misfires under load.

• You are missing required tools, torque specs, or safe lifting equipment.

• You are not confident in the next step or safety outcome.
