DESCRIPTION

(11) FREEZE FRAME DATA

When investigating a check engine light with the new select monitor on a customer's vehicle, BEFORE clearing the memory for the check engine light, please be sure to write down the Freeze Frame Data captured with the new select monitor.

Although the Freeze Frame Data seems irrelevant at times, we have found this data to be extremely useful. As OBDII becomes more of a way of life, recording (writing) pertinent details can be extremely helpful. This could aid in the diagnosis and repairs to the vehicle in your care, as well as assisting others with the same potential problem.

In order to obtain this information:

  1. - From the MAIN SCREEN select the following:
  2. - EACH SYSTEM CHECK
  3. - ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM
  4. - OBD SYSTEM
  5. - FREEZE FRAME DATA DISPLAY

Remember that if you have cleared the code and the check engine light is off, then the freeze frame data is gone.
