Park Lock Cable: Removal
2000 Saturn SC2 Automatic, MP6SECTION Removal
- Disable the SIR System. See AIR BAG DEACTIVATION PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION. Remove console. See FLOOR CONSOLEΒ .
- Use a small screwdriver to gently pry ignition switch bezel from lower column cover. See Figure . Remove lower column cover fasteners, upper cover, and lower cover. See Figure .
- Disengage the retaining tabs and remove the park lock cable assembly from the ignition module. See Figure . Disconnect the end terminal of the park lock cable assembly from the plastic lock-out lever at the control base assembly.
- Depress 2 tabs on the end fitting of the park lock cable assembly and remove the park lock cable assembly from the control base assembly. See Figure .
- Remove park lock cable assembly from vehicle. See Figure . Note cable routing. See Figure .
