Body Control Module (BCM): Removal

2000 Saturn SC2 Automatic, MP6SECTION Removal

Disable Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM in appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. BCM is located at center of dash, under dash cover. See Fig 1. Remove upper instrument panel trim panel retaining screws. Lift straight up on upper instrument panel trim panel. Set upper instrument panel trim panel aside. Disconnect BCM electrical connectors. Grasp BCM under connector side and pull upward and back. Rock BCM from side-to-side to disengage adhesive material. Pull BCM straight up and out. Pull any remaining adhesive loose from cross-car beam.
