Control Cable

2000 Saturn LW2 AutomaticSECTION Control Cable
CAUTION: Misadjusted shift linkage could cause transmission clutch and/or band failure.
  1. Move control assembly into Park position. Disconnect control cable from transaxle range switch lever. See Fig 1.
  2. Make sure transaxle range switch lever is in Park position by moving lever counterclockwise (away from dash panel) until it clicks and cannot be moved any further.
  3. Release control cable assembly adjustment lock tab at control cable bracket on rear powertrain mount. Use a screwdriver, awl, or pick to pry up lock tab and lift. See Fig 2.
  4. Reconnect control cable end to transaxle range switch lever. Depress lock tab on control cable assembly. Verify proper operation.
