Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Replacement
2000 Saturn LW1 L4-2.2L VIN FSECTION Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Replacement
REMOVAL

1. Open glove box door.
2. Remove glove box lamp assembly by pulling on lamp plunger.
3. Disconnect glove box lamp wiring harness from glove box lamp.

4. Remove R/S I/P lower dash insulator retainers.
5. Pull insulator rearward to detach from forward insulator retainers.

6. Remove R/S heater outlet assembly retainer and remove outlet.

7. Remove glove box door.

8. Remove glove box fasteners.

9. Slowly remove glove box bin tilting bin downward to expose the BCM module residing on top of the glove box.
10. Remove BCM module from glove box by sliding module out of attaching slots.
11. Remove glove box bin.

12. Remove screws holding PCM bracket.
13. Disconnect PCM connectors.
14. Remove PCM bracket from PCM.
INSTALLATION
1. Install PCM into PCM bracket.
2. Install PCM connectors.
3. Install PCM bracket to I/P bracket.

4. Install glove box bin partially into opening.
5. Secure BCM module to glove box bin slots.

6. Route glove box lamp wiring harness through lamp opening.
7. Install glove box bin to I/P with fasteners.

8. Connect glove box lamp wiring harness to glove box lamp.
9. Snap lamp into glove box bin.

10. Install glove box door.

11. Install R/S heater outlet assembly with retainer.

12. Install lower dash insulator with retainers.
13. Check function of glove box lamp and glove box door to ensure proper operation.
14. Reprogram PCM software and calibrations. Programming and Relearning
15. Turn ignition to ON position.
16. Using Scan tool, unlock PCM.
17. Using Scan tool, under "Special Functions" table, request Seed & Key Re-learn.
18. Wait 10 minutes until "SECURITY" telltale is OFF
19. Turn ignition to OFF position.
20. Perform crankshaft variation learn using Scan tool. Programming and Relearning
21. Verify operation. If Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are present, refer to the specific code chart.
