- Connect all disconnected components. Connect scan tool to DLC. Cycle ignition off, then on. Using scan tool, attempt to communicate with BCM. If scan tool communicates with BCM, go to next step. If scan tool does not communicate with BCM, perform TEST B: NO COMMUNICATION ON CLASS-2 SERIAL DATA LINK under SYSTEM TESTS.
- Using scan tool, select DISPLAY DTC function for BCM. If no current or history DTCs are retrieved, go to next step. If current or history DTCs are retrieved, perform appropriate test. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS .
- Using scan tool, review history BCM DTCs and clear all DTCs. Cycle ignition off, then on. Using scan tool, retrieve BCM DTCs. If no DTCs are retrieved, system is okay at this time. If DTCs are retrieved, perform appropriate test. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS .
