PASSLOCK - Programming
2000 Saturn LS L4-2.2L VIN FSECTION PASSLOCK - Programming
There are two methods used to program/reprogram the passlock system. These are the Seed and Key Method and the Auto Learn Method.
Seed And Key Method
^ This method takes about 10 minutes for programming
^ A programming system is required (refer to TISS 2000/Tech 2 User Guide).
^ A Scan tool is required.
Auto Learn Method (optional)
^ This method is usable if the Passlock sensor was the ONLY required system part change. BCM or ECM/PCM replacement requires use of SEED and KEY method.
^ This method takes about 30 minutes.
^ A Scan tool is not required.
Both methods are included in the flow chart on the next page.
IMPORTANT: If no passlock components are replaced the 30 minute auto-learn can always be used.

The table shows when the relearn procedure needs to be performed.
IMPORTANT: If the BCM or PCM are not new replacement parts, the relearn procedure must be performed. Using a module from another vehicle requires the relearn procedure to be performed.
