Fuel Level Sensor: Description and Operation

2000 Saturn LS L4-2.2L VIN FSECTION Description and Operation

The fuel level sensor is an important input to the PCM for the enhanced evaporative system diagnostic. The fuel level information is needed for the PCM to know the volume of the fuel tank. The fuel level affects the rate of change of tank pressure during the small and large leak test.

The fuel level information is also sent to BCM via class 2 serial data line. The BCM then sends information to I/P cluster to operate fuel gauge and low fuel telltale.
