Power Window System: Notes

1992 Saturn SL1 AutomaticSECTION Notes

The power window system is designed to open and close all of the side windows from a power window master switch assembly located in the console.

On the Sedan and Wagon models, the rear door windows may be controlled from switches located in each rear door. The left rear door switch will operate only the left rear window, and the right rear door switch will only operate the right rear window. The rear window door switches can also be disabled from the power window master switch assembly. The power window master switch assembly contains 5 switches: One switch each for control of the 4 windows and one rear window lockout switch to enable or disable, rear window operation from the rear window switches.

On the Coupe, the power window master switch assembly contains 2 switches: One switch for control of each of the 2 front windows.

On all models, the power window system is operational only when the ignition is in the run position.
