Clutch Pedal Position Sensor Programming
2010 Saab 9-5SECTION Clutch Pedal Position Sensor Programming
NOTE:
Clutch pedal position sensor (CPP) programming must be performed when any of the following service routines has been performed, regardless of whether DTC P080A has been registered.
- An engine control module (ECM) replacement
- CPP sensor replacement
- Repairs affecting CPP sensor conditions
- Install a scan tool.
- Monitor the ECM for DTCs with a scan tool. If other DTCs have been registered (except DTC P080A), see Clutch System DTC IndexΒ for the DTC registered.
- With a diagnostic tool, select programming of the clutch pedal position under engine control module (ECM), configuration/resetting functions and follow the instructions that are shown on the diagnostic tool screen.NOTE: The CPP sensor programming procedure can only be carried out once every ignition cycle. The clutch pedal must be pushed fully down and held firmly depressed during the whole procedure in order to ensure correct programming.
- Under CPP programming status the diagnostic tool displays "Not programmed", "In progress", "Completed", "Failed - low voltage", "Failed - high voltage", or "Failed - moved". Under CPP programming status the diagnostic tool displays programming completed if the procedure has been successful.
- If the diagnostic tool indicates that the DTC P080A has been registered and approved during the ignition cycle then the CPP sensor programming procedure has been completed. If the diagnostic tool indicates that DTC P080A failed or was not carried out during this ignition cycle, switch OFF the ignition and carry out the programming procedure again. If another DTC is registered, refer to Clutch System DTC IndexΒ for the DTC that has been registered.
- Switch off the ignition for 30 seconds after the programming procedure has been successfully completed in order to store the CPP sensor's variation value in the ECM history.
