NOTE:
For throttle position sensor testing, refer to SYSTEM/COMPONENT TESTS
article.
- Loosen TPS screws. To adjust TPS without using an ohmmeter, position TPS until click is heard just as throttle valve leaves idle position.
- If using an ohmmeter, connect ohmmeter leads between TPS terminal No. 3 (Green/Red wire) and terminal No. 2 (Black/White wire). Continuity should be present with TPS at fully closed position and no continuity with throttle valve at off-idle or wide open position.
- Adjust as necessary. Tighten TPS adjusting screws and recheck adjustment.
