Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) Adjustment

1990 Saab 900 SPG, StandardSECTION Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) Adjustment
NOTE: For throttle position sensor testing, refer to SYSTEM/COMPONENT TESTS article.
  1. Loosen TPS screws. To adjust TPS without using an ohmmeter, position TPS until click is heard just as throttle valve leaves idle position.
  2. If using an ohmmeter, connect ohmmeter leads between TPS terminal No. 3 (Green/Red wire) and terminal No. 2 (Black/White wire). Continuity should be present with TPS at fully closed position and no continuity with throttle valve at off-idle or wide open position.
  3. Adjust as necessary. Tighten TPS adjusting screws and recheck adjustment.
