Ignition Timing

1990 Saab 900 SPG, AutomaticSECTION Ignition Timing
NOTE: 9000 Turbo models are equipped with Distributorless Ignition System (DIS). Timing is not adjustable.
  1. 1) Connect tachometer and timing light. Disconnect and plug vacuum advance hose (if equipped). Place transmission in Neutral. Ensure throttle position sensor is closed.
  2. 2) With engine at normal operating temperature, check ignition timing at specified RPM. See IGNITION TIMING TABLEΒ  . Adjust ignition timing, if necessary, by loosening distributor hold-down bolt and turning distributor.
