Installation Procedure
- Install the resonator assembly through the wheel house opening.NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
- Install the resonator rear push-in retainer and the upper attaching bolt (5).
Tighten: Tighten the bolt to 7 N.m (61 lb in).
- Install the front air cleaner intake duct (3) through the headlamp assembly opening.
- Install the lower push-in retainer (4) to the front air cleaner intake duct.
- Install the left front wheel house panel. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement in Body Front End.
- Install the left front tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the upper push-in retainer (1) to the front air cleaner intake duct.
- Install the headlamp assembly. Refer to Headlamp Assembly or Headlamp Bulb Replacement (Pontiac) in Lighting Systems.
- Install the air cleaner outlet splash shield.

- • Brakes feel soft, pull hard to one side, or make grinding noises.
- • The engine overheats, stalls repeatedly, or misfires under load.
- • You are missing required tools, torque specs, or safe lifting equipment.
