Electronic Control Module (ECM): Removal

1987 Pontiac 6000 STESECTION Removal

Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove interior covering of ECM location. Disconnect ECM electrical leads. Remove ECM and carefully remove PROM from ECM.

CAUTION: To prevent internal ECM damage, ignition switch must be in "OFF" position when disconnecting or reconnecting power to ECM (for example, battery cable, ECM pigtail, ECM fuse, jumper cables, etc.).
