Safety Warning
DIY auto repair can cause serious injury, fire, or vehicle damage. These guides are for informational purposes only. Always follow OEM torque specs, wear PPE, and consult a certified mechanic if you are unsure. You are solely responsible for your safety.
Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS) Module
VTSS module is integrated into Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) module. Also see REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY (RKE) MODULEΒ . VTSS module monitors vehicle doors, hood, trunk (deck lid) key cylinder and ignition for unauthorized operation/entry. When alarm is triggered, the horn will sound, and interior and exterior lights will flash for 3 minutes. Exterior lights will continue to flash for 15 minutes. VTSS module will communicate with Sentry Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM), and other modules, via the Programmable Communication Interface (PCI) bus circuit to activate "engine kill" feature. The engine will not restart until VTSS is disarmed. For additional information on VTSS, see ANTI-THEFT SYSTEMS - NEON article.
