Work Procedure
Work Procedure (Before Replacing ECM)Â
When replacing ECM, perform "SAVING DATA FOR REPLC CPU" in "Work support" of "ENGINE" using CONSULT to save current ECM data before replacement.
- SAVE ECM DATAÂ
With CONSULT
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Turn ignition switch ON.
- On CONSULT screen, select "ENGINE">>"Work support">>"SAVING DATA FOR REPLC CPU".
- Follow the instruction of CONSULT display.
NOTE:- Necessary data in ECM is copied and saved to CONSULT.
- Go to Step 2 regardless of with or without success in saving data.

GO TO 2.
- SAVE 'OPERATION LOG'Â
With CONSULT Save Operation Log, according to the procedure of "Programming" in CONSULT Operation Manual.
NOTE:ECM part number is saved in Operating Log saved in CONSULT.

- Replace ECM.
- After replacing ECM, perform necessary work.
Work Procedure (After Replacing ECM)Â
After replacing ECM, the following items must be performed:
- Write data after replace CPU
- Accelerator pedal released position learning
- Throttle valve closed position learning
- Idle air volume learning
- Electric intake valve timing control actuator reference position learning
- CHECK 'OPERATION LOG'Â
With CONSULT Check Operation Log saved before replacing ECM, according to the procedure of "Programming" in CONSULT Operation Manual.
NOTE:For the vehicle that the programming is to be performed, check if Operation Log of Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is in Saved Data List.
Is there an applicable Operation Log in the Saved Data List?

GO TO 2.

GO TO 3.
- PERFORM ECM PROGRAMMINGÂ
With CONSULT Perform ECM programming, according to "Programming" of CONSULT Operation Manual. Refer to CONSULT Operation Manual.
CAUTION:During programming, maintain the following conditions:
- Ignition switch: ON
- Electric load: OFF
- Brake pedal: Not depressed
- Battery voltage: 12 - 13.5 V (Check the value displayed on the CONSULT screen.)

GO TO 5.
- READ IN ECM PART NUMBER BY 'EPC (SERVICE PARTS CATALOG) LINKED'Â
Obtain ECM part number by NISSAN PARTS CATALOG GLOBAL EPC (service parts catalog), according to the procedure of 'EPC (service parts catalog) linked' in CONSULT Operation Manual. Refer to CONSULT Operation Manual.
NOTE:'EPC (service parts catalog) linked' allows an appropriate programming by obtaining ECM part number from NISSAN PARTS CATALOG GLOBAL EPC (service parts catalog) even when the part number cannot be obtained from the old ECM used before replacing with a new one.

GO TO 4.
- PERFORM ECM PROGRAMMING [ EPC (SERVICE PARTS CATALOG) LINKED]Â
With CONSULT Perform ECM programming according to the procedure of EPC (service parts catalog) linked in CONSULT Operation Manual. Refer to CONSULT Operation Manual.
CAUTION:During programming, maintain the following conditions:
- Ignition switch: ON
- Electric load: OFF
- Brake pedal: Not depressed
- Battery voltage: 12 - 13.5 V (Check the value displayed on the CONSULT screen.)

GO TO 5.
- PERFORM INITIALIZATION OF NVIS (NATS) SYSTEM AND REGISTRATION OF ALL NVIS (NATS) IGNITION KEY IDSÂ
Refer to Description .

GO TO 6.
- CHECK ECM DATA STATUSÂ
Check if the data is successfully copied from the ECM at Step 1 (before replacement) and saved in CONSULT.
Is the data saved successfully?

GO TO 7.

GO TO 8.
- WRITE ECM DATAÂ
With CONSULT
- On CONSULT screen, select "ENGINE">>"Work support">>"WRITING DATA FOR REPLC CPU".
- Follow the instruction of CONSULT display.
NOTE:The data saved by "SAVING DATA FOR REPLC CPU" is written to ECM.

GO TO 9.
- PERFORM VIN REGISTRATIONÂ
Refer to Description .

GO TO 9.
- PERFORM ACCELERATOR PEDAL RELEASED POSITION LEARNINGÂ
Refer to Description .

GO TO 10.
- PERFORM THROTTLE VALVE CLOSED POSITION LEARNINGÂ
Refer to Description .

GO TO 11.
- ELECTRIC INTAKE VALVE TIMING CONTROL ACTUATOR REFERENCE POSITION LEARNINGÂ
Refer to Description .

GO TO 12.
- PERFORM IDLE AIR VOLUME LEARNINGÂ
Refer to Description .

GO TO 13.
- ERASE DTCÂ
With CONSULT
- Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
- Turn ignition switch ON.
- Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
- Turn ignition switch ON.
- Check "Self-diagnostic result" of "ENGINE".
Is any DTC detected?

Erase DTC.
