DTC Confirmation Test (Overall Function Check)
Malfunction is detected when EVAP system is not functioning properly or there is a leak in hose between EVAP-CSPS and intake manifold. Possible causes are:
- EVAP Canister Purge Volume Control Valve (EVAP-CPVCV) stuck closed.
- Faulty EVAP Control System Pressure Sensor (EVAP-CSPS) or circuit.
- Leak or blockage in EVAP-CSPS hose.
- EVAP canister cracked.
- Defective closed throttle position switch.
- Plugged purge port.
- Defective EVAP Canister Vent Control Valve (EVAP-CVCV).
- To check overall function of EVAP purge flow monitoring system, raise drive wheels and support vehicle. Start engine and warm to normal operating temperature. Ensure Traction Control System (TCS) is turned off. Turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds.
- Start engine and wait at least 70 seconds. With engine idling, measure and record voltage between ground and ECM terminal No. 84 (EVAP-CSPS signal) by backprobing. See Figure and Figure .
- With transmission in a forward gear, turn A/C headlights and rear window defogger on. Hold steering wheel in the fully turned position. Increase engine speed to about 3000 RPM.
- While observing voltmeter, maintain conditions in step Β 3 for at least one minute. Voltage should remain .1 volt less than voltage measured at idle. If voltage is not as specified, go to PROCEDUREΒ .
