2023 Mazda CX-50 SFACTORY OEM SERVICE PROCEDURE

Function Inspection

  1. Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
  2. Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
  3. Display the PCM PIDs EVAP_PRES and FTP. (See PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION .) (See PID/DATA MONITOR TABLE [PCM (SKYACTIV-G VIN M)] .)
  4. Disconnect the quick release connector (Fuel tank side) connected to the charcoal canister.
  5. Verify the PIDs EVAP_PRES and FTP value are as specified.
    STANDARD SPECIFICATION

    (1) The fuel tank pressure displayed on the M-MDS indicates the difference between the pressure and the barometric pressure.
    • If the specified value can be verified, go to the next step.
    • If the specified value cannot be verified, replace the PCM. (See PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  6. Verify that the voltage output from the fuel tank pressure sensor (PID: EVAP_PRES) changes when pressure is applied to the port on the fuel tank side of the charcoal canister.
