Body Control Module (BCM) Removal/Installation: MTX

- Perform the BCM configuration when replacing it. (See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) CONFIGURATIONΒ .)
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the following parts:
- Front scuff plate (LH) (See FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Front side trim (LH) (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Upper panel (See UPPER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Shift knob (See MANUAL TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Shift panel (See SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Side wall (See SIDE WALL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Console (See CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Set the hood release lever out of the way. (See HOOD LATCH AND RELEASE LEVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the lower panel, (driver-side) (See LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the starter cut relay, (with advanced keyless entry and push button start system) (see STARTER CUT RELAY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MTX] .)
- Remove the nuts shown in the illustration.
- Pry off the lock device of the clip while pressing the tab in the position shown in the illustration.
- Rotate the clip in the direction of the arrow shown in the illustration.
- Remove the clip by pulling it in the direction of the arrow shown in the illustration.
- Disconnect the connector shown in the illustration.
- While pressing the tab shown in the illustration, pull the bracket in the direction of the arrow and remove it.
- Remove the BCM.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
