DTC P1102: MAF Sensor Inconsistent With TP Sensor (Less Than Expected): Testing
NOTE:
Record freeze frame data. Check for service bulletins and on-line information.
- Using scan tool, access PID/DATA MONITOR. Record PID data for ECT, TP and MAF. Warm engine until ECT PID is more than 176Β°F. Drive vehicle. Check MAF PID while TP PID is more than 50 percent. If MAF PID is less than 1.09 lbs. min., check TP sensor. See SYSTEM & COMPONENT TESTING - MIATA, MILLENIA, MPV, PROTEGE & 626 article. If TP sensor is okay, go to next step. If TP sensor is faulty, replace as necessary. Go to step Β 4 . If MAF PID is more than 1.09 lbs. min., problem is not present. Go to TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES article.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect MAF/IAT sensor connector. Check connector and terminals. If no problem is found, go to next step. If any problem is found, repair or replace as necessary. Go to step Β 4 .
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect PCM harness connector. PCM is mounted to passenger floor, behind glove box. Check PCM harness connector and PCM terminals. If problem is not present, replace MAF/IAT sensor. If any problem is present, repair or replace as necessary. Go to next step.
- Reconnect all components. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear DTC. Warm engine until ECT PID is more than 176Β°F. Drive vehicle. Accelerate so TP PID is more than 50 percent and MAF PID is more than 1.09 lbs. min. for more than 5 seconds. Recheck DTCs. If DTC P1102 is present, replace PCM and go to next step. If DTC P1102 is not present, go to next step.
- Perform after repair procedure. See AFTER REPAIR PROCEDUREΒ . If DTC is not present, testing is complete. If any DTC is present, go to appropriate test for diagnosis and repair.
