System Inspection (DOHC)
Warm engine to normal operating temperature. Run engine at idle. Remove protector from shutter valve actuator. Verify shutter valve actuator rod is extended at idle. See Figure . Increase engine speed and verify rod retracts into shutter valve actuator at any speed above idle.
