Inspection Mode Procedure
HINT:
Before performing the Data List and Active Test of the engine with Techstream, be sure to put the system into the inspection mode using the following procedures.
- ACTIVATING INSPECTION MODE
- Perform the following steps (1) through (4) in 60 seconds.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Fully depress the accelerator pedal twice with the transmission in the P position.
- Fully depress the accelerator pedal twice with the transmission in the N position.
- Fully depress the accelerator pedal twice with the transmission in the P position.
- Check that "FWD MAINTENANCE MODE" appears on the multi-information display and the master warning light is illuminated in the combination meter.
- Start the engine.
- Perform the following steps (1) through (4) in 60 seconds.

When to See a Mechanic
Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:
- • You smell fuel, burning insulation, or see smoke.
- • Brakes feel soft, pull hard to one side, or make grinding noises.
- • The engine overheats, stalls repeatedly, or misfires under load.
- • You are missing required tools, torque specs, or safe lifting equipment.
- • You are not confident in the next step or safety outcome.
