Valve Body Assembly: Inspection
- INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SL1
- Measure the resistance of the shift solenoid valve.
Standard Resistance
RESISTANCE REFERENCETester Connection Condition Specified Condition Terminal 1 of the shift solenoid valve SL1 - Terminal 2 20°C (68°F) 5.0 to 5.6 Ω If the resistance is not within the specified range, replace the shift solenoid valve SL1.
- Connect the battery's positive (+) lead with a 21 W bulb to terminal 2 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1 of the solenoid valve connector. Then check that the valve moves and makes an operating noise.
OK: Valve moves and makes operating noise.

When to See a Mechanic
Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:
- • You smell fuel, burning insulation, or see smoke.
- • Brakes feel soft, pull hard to one side, or make grinding noises.
- • The engine overheats, stalls repeatedly, or misfires under load.
- • You are missing required tools, torque specs, or safe lifting equipment.
- • You are not confident in the next step or safety outcome.
