- On GS400, ES300 and LS400, remove engine cover. On all models, start and warm engine to operating temperature. Turn A/C off. Use a stethoscope to listen for injector operating noise (or feel for vibration with finger).
- Increase engine speed to at least the following specification.
- 3500 RPM (ES300).
- 3000 RPM (GS300 and SC300).
- 2500 RPM (GS400, LS400 and SC400).
- Release throttle lever. When throttle lever is released, injectors should stop operating momentarily until engine speed decreases to 1400 RPM (1200 RPM on ES300, 1000 RPM on GS300 and SC300).
