2021 Kia Forte EXFACTORY OEM SERVICE PROCEDURE

Removal And Installation

Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
Turn the steering wheel so that the front wheels are facing straight ahead.
Remove the driver airbag module.
(Refer to Restraint - "DRIVER AIRBAG (DAB) MODULE and CLOCK SPRING ")
Disconnect the steering wheel connector (A).

Loosen the bolt (A) and then remove the steering wheel (B).
Tightening torque:

44.1 - 49.0 N.m (4.5 - 5.0 kgf.m, 32.5 - 36.2 lb.ft)

NOTE:
- When removing the steering wheel, do not impact it by hammering as it may damage the steering column.
- Do not reuse the steering lock bolt.
- When assembling, match the gear teeth as the below illustration.

Install in the reverse order of removal.
