Safety Warning
DIY auto repair can cause serious injury, fire, or vehicle damage. These guides are for informational purposes only. Always follow OEM torque specs, wear PPE, and consult a certified mechanic if you are unsure. You are solely responsible for your safety.
Description and Operation: Description: Notes
Power Trunk System automatically opens and closes the trunk lid and cinches the latch with a press of a button on an interior switch (door trim switch, trunk inner push button switch and trunk lid outside handle) or a remote keyless entry device. Power Trunk Module (PTM) determines whether or not the trunk is open by transmitting vehicle status information from body electrical ECU via CAN communication and performs self-diagnostic function.
In case of detecting obstacle during operation, the safety function will reverse the operation. Also, in case power operation is disabled due to discharged battery or malfunctioning ECU, by person operation is possible by unlocking the low latch with a mechanical key.
