Removal And Installation: Installation
2023 Jeep Compass RedSECTION Installation
- Position the steering column (3) in the vehicle.
- Install the two front steering column support bolts (2) and tighten them to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the two rear steering column support nuts (1) and tighten them to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the intermediate shaft (2) to the steering gear.
- Install a NEW intermediate shaft pinch bolt (1) and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the Steering Column Control Module (SCCM). Refer to MODULE, STEERING COLUMN CONTROL (SCCM), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Install the steering column opening cover. Refer to COVER, STEERING COLUMN OPENING, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Install the steering wheel. Refer to WHEEL, STEERING, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Connect the negative battery cable.
