Power Inverter Module (PIM)
| Refer to COMPONENT INDEXΒ . |
The DC/AC PIM is an electrical device which converts direct current input to an alternating current output. The output voltage of the inverter can be a full sine wave or a modified sine wave in order to support the fluctuation with AC. The Root Mean Square (RMS) value of the output voltage is 115 (60Hz) for North American market vehicles or 230 (50Hz) for European market vehicles. RMS is he effective value of alternating current or voltage. The RMS value equates an AC current or voltage to a DC current or voltage that provides the same power transfer.
